Approach

What does Elisabeth do?

You’ve studied hard in school. You’ve put in countless hours doing the extracurricular activities you love. You’ve taken all the necessary standardized tests (maybe more than once). You’re ready to apply to college!

Now it’s time to write your essays, and you’re stuck. You have no idea how to distill all that makes you you into 500 words.

Elisabeth can help you plan, edit, and polish your application essays. Her goal is to help you use your words and your voice to write the very best essays you can–essays that capture your essence and are specifically tailored for the schools to which you’re applying.

How does the process work?

Admissions essays are very personal, so working with Elisabeth begins with an informational meeting to ensure that she is a good fit. If you decide to proceed, the next step is to meet to review the list of schools to which you plan to apply. During that meeting, you will begin to brainstorm with Elisabeth about potential essay topics.

For every prompt, Elisabeth will help you pick a great essay topic. Many factors go into what makes an essay topic “great,” but the ultimate goal is to showcase your unique qualities and accomplishments in the context of the entire application.

After you write your first draft, the fun begins! Elisabeth will work with you to help edit for theme, focus, and of course, grammar. Typically, students write between six and eight drafts of each essay, and Elisabeth will be with you every step of the way to ensure that your essays demonstrate the best of you and your writing and add positively to your application as a whole.
